The “Language Through Acting” series bridges the gap between hesitant beginner level speech and confident intermediate level conversation. Language Through Acting is here to get you comfortable and expressive in your language of choice so that your future forays in to spontaneous conversation include more joy than pain, more fluidity than frustration and more delightful surprises than embarrassments. Enjoy!
Olivia Sumich has been a lover of learning languages for a long, long time. Some experiences were significantly better than others. Some methods were significantly more helpful than others. However one of the most enjoyable and painless language learning activities was performing and directing a full length Italian play while at university. During this experience her speaking, listening and reading of Italian improved, she formed close friendships with her fellow uni student-actors which survive to this day, she gained the confidence to wrap her Anglo-Saxon tongue around any multisyllabic Italian word that came her way and she gained a really amazing topic of conversation for her conversations with unsuspecting Italian restaurant owners. Olivia is now on a mission to create a massive collection of plays in all the languages she has learned (and those she is planning to learn), so keep an eye on her Kindle page - there are many more plays to come!
