Nick and Jeff are in the Royal Oak having their traditional Christmas Eve drinking session, making jokes and talking nonsense. Nick’s just had an excruciating experience buying underwear as a present for Julie, who is away from home for two weeks over Christmas, and Jeff just can’t stop laughing about it.
He invites Nick, Julie and all her family to his father’s New Year’s Eve Ball, where they unknowingly walk into a scary, ghostly, supernatural situation. The impossible keeps happening, repeatedly disrupting Nick and Julie’s attempts to have a few ‘intimate’ minutes together. As a dark apparition begins to form, it is clear they are in the presence of something quite extraordinary and that this will be a New Year’s Eve they’ll never forget.
