In August 1968, Birmingham City manager, Stan Cullis, in a unique negotiation, convinced Jimmy Greenhoff - not only to leave Leeds United - but drop down to the Second Division and play for the Blues. At that time it was a major club signing at £70,000. Although Jimmy only spent less than a season at St. Andrews, he was an instant success. He made 36 appearance in the League and F.A. Cup and scored 15 goals. The author goes back to the time when he was a thirteen-year-old supporter on the Tilton Road terraces and he captures the excitement and atmosphere of the late 1960s while writing about his boyhood hero. Jimmy Greenhoff was a top player and scored on his debut for Birmingham and the England Under 23's. He also scored four times in a League game against Fulham.
