Jimi and Isaac are rock stars, epic heroes, intellectuals, and loving sons. They are wise and foolish, sublime and earthy. They are middle school boys.
They may also be the best soccer players that ever started middle school. Isaac's dad coached their rec league team while they were growing up, so they've learned pretty much all there is to know about the beautiful game.
Except middle school soccer is different, their middle school soccer coach is completely different, and even middle school music is different. Nothing makes sense anymore.
But Jimi and Isaac never quit. They don't know how.

Jimi was supposed to write a story about soccer, but he put in a bunch of other stuff about music and girls and food. Jimi is well known for not being able to maintain focus. He did put a lot in the book about how I was able to change my game and adapt to the new coach, so I give him credit for that.
This is a good book for boys to read because it will prepare them for the endless hassle that is middle school. It's not as easy as they tell you when you're a kid. It's also a good book for girls to read because they will learn how awesome boys are.
