An Indiana farm boy in the 1940--realizing he was “different”--finds his way with self-discoveries rich and varied eventually to the bright lights of Broadway in the 1980s. The journey takes him to college, into an unsuccessful marriage, and fatherhood, with intervening service in the army at Kentucky and Frankfurt, Germany--and finally divorce. Then midway on his path, a teaching opportunity entices him to the Big Apple. Here his naïve assimilation of New York
