Hercules and the Stymphalian Birds (Hercules labors Book 6)

Hercules sixth labor is to rid the town of Stymphalos of a monstrous flock of man-killing birds, but he is puzzled as to how to do this. Artemis comeds to his aid. He dallies for a while at Thespius, spending 50 days and nights hunting lions and impregnating the king's 50 daughters. Hercules then calls on an old friend and is saddened by what he finds. Plenty of action for mid-teens to Young Adults
