    About

Handsome and athletic, charming and charismatic – Henry VIII was quite the catch in his younger days, and yet when I think of Henry VIII, Jabba the Hut springs to mind. I guess we don’t all age well. Henry VIII is probably the most famous of all kings in England’s history, and perhaps for all of the wrong reasons. He had accomplished many achievements for England – he broke away from Rome and set himself up as the head of the Church of England leading the Reformation converting the people from Catholicism to Protestantism, he strengthened the military and England’s defences, fortifying the coast of England against invasions and he bolstered diplomatic relations with Spain and Germany through, as we know, many marriages. And yet in spite of all this, he will always been known as the king who had six wives – this is his enduring legacy. And so herein follows a short tale of Henry VIII’s “lucky” ladies.
