Gwydion, the Apprentice Wizard, whose adventures began with “Gwydion and the Flying Wand”, “Magic Maldwyn” and “Betsan the Brave” and continue with the “Magic Apostrophe” series, is still learning his magical trade from Great Merlin.
Despite his habit of playing practical jokes on Merlin, Gwydion is getting older, if not particularly wiser, and Merlin decides it is time to send him on a Quest. He must pass through a Time Door, back to Maldwyn and Betsan’s time, and bring back three things…
Of course, wherever Gwydion goes, Fang the dog and Bugsy the dragon go too, whether he wants them to or not, and travelling in the Twenty-First Century with a small, fire-breathing dragon causes problems.
And the very first thing Gwydion does is get himself arrested…
