Peter Stapley and his wife Sandy first holidayed on the beautiful Greek island of Kefalonia in 1987 and immediately fell in love with the place, its people and their quiet and relaxed lifestyle and the abundance of history and spectacular vistas. This started an annual return to Greece, firstly back to Kefalonia and later the Peloponnese and other Greek islands. With so much to see and do, over what is now thirty years of holidaying in Greece, they kept a brief, amusing record of places they visited, people they met and the overwhelming spirit of hospitality (Greek : filoxenia), kindness and warmth shown by the locals everywhere they went. Despite the recent financial troubles, which has affected the poorer in Greek society more than anyone, this spirit continues unabated.
