Hampshire Parish Register Transcription Series
Genealogy is one of the fastest growing and most popular hobbies of the 21st century. With the boom in online records many parochial records are now available for even the most distant researcher to access. However, many of the sites that host the records are pay per view or charge a high price for membership or access.
Most of the records in this series were transcribed for personal research over ten years ago and the author has therefore decided to electronically publish them as an alternate means of access.
The author is a professional genealogist and has been involved in the field of family history for over 30 years.
Each listing is divided into three sections. Firstly the records are listed chronologically, then by surname and then by forename [as a child’s surname can be a bit fluid or unknown in some circumstances!]
A typical baptism entry will contain the date of baptism [English format], child’s Christian name, gender if indicated, parent(s) name(s), abode of parents, occupation of father plus and miscellaneous notes entered into the register or observations at the time of transcription.
VOLUME 3 – Greatham, St John The Baptist Baptisms 1802-1902
This volume contains approximately 860 entries.
More parishes are due to be published in this series if sufficient interest is forthcoming. The list below shows the parishes that are either available or in the pipeline. Pricing will be banded according to the number of entries included.
