Any fans of the Irish group U2, or of the Graham Norton Show, may have recently heard Bono say that he has suffered from glaucoma for twenty years. The discussion didn’t go any further but it would account for why Bono always wears sunglasses.
I have never met Bono (though wouldn’t we all like to?) but I do have glaucoma and, as a writer who specialises in health and disability, I have prepared this booklet to give information about this eye condition, including what happens with glaucoma, signs and symptoms, who is at risk, treatment of the condition, as well as my personal account of how glaucoma has affected me, with the hope that people will get a good understanding of glaucoma and maybe recognise signs or symptoms in themselves or others.
