Author Dorothy A. Brandt, writes an honest and sensitive account of her journey of finding faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ outside of the Catholic Church. She reveals the emotional hardships and awkward moments of transition along with the freedom and joy she found in studying the scriptures for herself. This book is a must read for those who struggle with guilt for leaving the Catholic Church as well as those who find it difficult to understand why one would choose Protestantism. She shares the joy in realizing leaving the “church” does not mean one leaves God. Along with her testimony she cites many of the differences between Catholic doctrine and Biblical doctrine, which provide deeper insight to her reasoning (and that of others) for choosing to follow Christ in a Protestant fellowship.
