It is widely believed that imports hurt domestic economies. This is due to socialist propaganda. Socialists always promote economic nationalism. This essay is using some of Milton Friedman’s and Henry Hazlitt’s arguments to explain why imports can never hurt local economies and cause unemployment in the absence of government intervention.
The debate of whether free trade or protectionism is better is one of the oldest, and this essay is a simple explanation of why free trade is always better than protectionism.
