Dorothy Savage Joseph, Athabascan Indian, was born in Holy Cross, Alaska. Dorothy is married to Angus Joseph of Beaver, Alaska and they have three children as well as two daughters in-law and three grandchildren. Dorothy's hobbies are reading, basket making, Karaoke singing, sewing, knitting, cooking for family weekend dinners, learning to play the guitar and she loves to dance to Athabascan Old Time Fiddling music. Dorothy retired from the Anchorage School District on February 1, 2000. She is now involved in basket making, storytelling, traveling on cruise ships representing the Native Cultural Center in Anchorage and traveling on her riverboat during summer months visiting villages along the Yukon River.
