First Try – AWS Application Deployment: Scaling a web application with Amazon Web Services

We’re moving to the cloud! The cloud is a mythical thing. We know it’s good. We know it will save costs, energy, and probably bring world peace. The cloud is a concept that is growing in popularity among technology practitioners and the board room. It’s a concept that overwhelms commercials and architecture documents. Yet a large portion of us (dare I say, older developers or maybe focused programmers who are new to the industry alike?) haven’t had any hands on experience. The goal of this book is simple. I want to walk you through building a new web application using a few modern technologies, come up with a simple process to automate a build and deploy it to a highly scalable environment based in the cloud.
