Giles Lytton Strachey (1880 – 1932) was a British writer and founding member of the Bloomsbury Group. His biography Queen Victoria (1921) was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize and he is generally credited with establishing a new form of biography with psychological insight, irreverence and wit.
