He is remembered for being the vanquisher of Napoleon, as the man who led the allies to victory over the Corsican Usurper at the battle of Waterloo. To history that is all he is, a footnote in the Napoleonic legend, but the life of Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington, did not end at Waterloo. Following the battle he would return to Great Britain and a life in politics, continuing his service to his king and country.
