Danny and the Portal of the World is the 1st book of the The Adventures of Danny Hoopenbiller sci-fi series. In David’s own words: This is the story of Danny Tom Ed, a portal and a lot of relatives. They come together when Danny slips and falls into a portal and meets his relatives. This story also chronicles about a mystery rock later to be found a short cut for Danny to return home. He also finds that this portal also interferes with time and soon find himself standing in a sun-lit bedroom only to find his mother saying, “Danny you're almost late for school,” and suddenly he realizes that the time had moved along. And you must read on to find how Danny, the portal and his relatives come together into their own lives.
Below are a few recent reviews of his book.
From Floral Street Elementary School principal - Lisa McCubrey:
“I read his Danny and the Portal of the World story and marveled at his use of language. He is so descriptive and uses such sophisticated structures and vocabulary. He certainly has a talent for writing, and I love that he feels so passionately about writing!”
From Head of Children's Services of Shrewsbury Public Library - Nancy Colby:
“Very impressive, David! I really enjoyed reading your first book and look forward to the sequel. Thank you for sharing.”
From children's book author and editor - April Jones Prince:
“I was happy to read “Danny and the Portal of the World” and discover David T. Lee’s vivid imagination. The story has so much action, and there is obviously a very creative and fertile mind behind it. For example, I love the Inventions Famous Ingredients Store! David has a fabulous vocabulary and terrific use of details. He also did a great job choosing which moments in the story to illustrate; the illustrations of the 4,982 jeeps and SUVs and the amusement park are especially wonderful. All in all, a great achievement!”
