    One of the difficulties for American measures is that although they are consistently in cups and fractions of a cup of course different ingredients will weigh different amounts. For example a cup of flour when converted to grams or ounces will be much less than a cup of butter or sugar.

    I have therefor written this handy guide which should have all of the information you need in one easy place. You can either refer to it again or if you have some favourite recipes jot down the British equivalent in the margin of your recipe book so that it is easier to find next time.
