Mike Martel is a high school football star who becomes bored of the same old cycle of dating and dumping girls. The whole school is shocked to hear he's taking a break from dating girls. Through his dating celibacy phase, he develops a friendship with Andrew Mills, a good looking classmate who is not caught up with the gossip and drama of high school life. Friends are supportive of Andrew and Mike's new relationship, but the high school system is not, precluding them from attending the prom and blacklisting Mike from potential football scholarships. Together, they fight to gain acceptance.
