    About

We built up for so long that we forgot what lay below.
In a distant, utopian future, all is well. Happy people live happy lives in towering, beautiful cities, alien suns smiling down on them from blue skies as the benevolent Emergent God answers their prayers from its home in the network. But that's not true now, is it? 'All is well'.
Not all are allowed to remain in this haven of glass and gold cathedrals. A small percentage of the population is born with a mutation that forces their mind to exist isolated from the network - a mutation that cuts them off from God; renders them invisible in his eyes. And the unholy shall not be suffered by the divine.
Those who carry the Unholy Gene are Condemned, and executed in a very specific way, as mandated by the Emergent God: they are dropped into the Catacombs, a mysterious space beneath the city that exists in eternal darkness. Nobody above remembers why they are there, what they are, or what they were once for... but when two young women survive the unsurvivable fall, brave the unbravable shadows, they find that the reason for the Catacombs' existence is far from the blackest secret the darkness hides.
