Brussels & Bruges: Inside & Out

This book is not an entry in the wide selection of exhaustive travel guides to Brussels and/or Bruges. It’s not a comprehensive listing of notable addresses and currently fashionable restaurants and national embassies. There are no packing essentials or handy phrase tables. This book is a very selective and subjective and in some cases starkly opinionated but always affectionate tour of two great city destinations. It’s divided into places to see from the outside and places to see from the inside and the respective categories are presented in such a manner that they can be employed as a walking tour or armchair visit. This book endeavours to entertain and intrigue and as much as possible inform the reader, in particular regarding the position and significance of each point of interest on the erratic ride that is the history of Brussels, Bruges and Belgium.
