Even with the big battalions lined up against Leave, the polls just wouldn't quit showing that Leave had a chance. And then came Jo Cox, and it was all over. You couldn't fight a victim whose birthday was on polling day. They kept the stories going all the time. We never had a chance, but turned up to vote anyway. And then history happened. Here I try to capture the essence of what it was like for an old white non-thicko (Mensa, sorry), to vote Leave believing it was one of the most important opportunities in his life, and the extraordinary moments as the results came in. It isn't over yet. Remain are determined to run roughshod over democracy to get their way after the 'wrong' result. Here's what it felt like for one Leaver, and what he believes.
