Shortly after the cancer diagnosis, I asked a good friend of mine, who had lost her husband to cancer, how to do all of this. She told me to try and live life as normal as possible. This was a huge challenge for us but I see the wisdom. We had always lived life by working hard, enjoying adventures and fun, loving deeply, and striving for learning and growth. Cancer changed every aspect of our lives but it didn't rob us of those goals.
Mark and I believe that our marriage and our family is eternal, that one day we will all be together again. This perspective has blessed us all. In the meantime I hope to raise our children and live my life the way Mark and I always did.
I'm not afraid of love and loss.
I'm not afraid of beautiful heartache.
