    About

This paper will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of automated software testing. There are many considerations to be taken into account before implementing automation and in this paper we will look into some of these. Automation of Testing is not suitable for every software product and it is important to only use automation when there are clear and definable advantages to be gained from the process.
Many people believe the test automation is a good way of removing those annoying software testers who keep finding bugs in software; this however is not the aim of automation. Automation Testing is a process that will help your testers become more proficient and efficient.
If you are a small software development company, you will probably wondering if you should be using any automated UI testing tools at all. The consensus may be that manual testing does the job, albeit with tedious, repetitive techniques that occasionally fail to catch obscure problems before a software release. Eventually, this might become quite expensive to your business in terms of revenue and reputation.
