In the year 2026 the United States is but a shell of its former world power status. Life for Americans went from one of the highest standards in the world to a third world existence in almost an instant after the Bond Collapse of 2016. Twenty-two year old Samantha starts her journey traveling to Chicago from Cleveland on a cold October morning for an interview. Little did she know, three days later, she would be embroiled in a story of mystery, spy and romance when she learns she’s been targeted by the resistance to help their cause by posing as a “Bride” from an agency with high valued foreign clients. Alone with her mother, they have survive the collapse and barter years because of their nursing and home skills. Now, with her mother in the hospital, Samantha must find better paying work in order to maintain her mother’s care and the essentials of life in an opportunity stricken society. On top of worrying about her mother, she now finds herself conflicted over choosing to ignore or help, a powerful and pervasive resistance hold back the power grab of an increasingly hungry Federal Government looking for the influence and control of their glory days. To make matters worse, she begins to care about both sides by developing feelings for the client and sympathy for the recruiters.
