This is the fictionalized tale of how the war in Vietnam "almost" never happened. in 1963 President Kennedy, on reccomendationn from General Maxwell Taylor, ordered a young Green Beret Captain to select a team, go to Vietnam and follow a plan to assassinate it's military command structure. The plan called "Operation Dark"

Until the assassination of Kennedy, ended the target list, and shut the door home for a team that no one in the regular military even knew existed. "Operation Dark" is now an embarrassment that President Johnson descided should be eliminated, along with it's team. Johnson sends Captain Trister and the remainder of his team to bolster a Special Ops firebase knowing an attack is imminent by an overwhelming force. They have no hope of surviving. Problem solved.
But what president Johnson cannot know is that the guilt from losing some of his team members has driven him to madness. Triggered ,by the need for vengence blood lust overcomes the young Green Beret Captain, code named "Black Tiger."
The jungle eternal and impartial, gives and takes life where it will and so, a new predator is born, from blood and war driven solely by instinct. The young Green Beret Captain code named "black Tiger" hunts the jungle at night. Alone, he hunts humans, armed with only a knife and camouflaged like the beast he has become.
A beautiful half French, half Montagnard woman in the village the team lives in, tries to reach Brian through the madness and succeeds only in falling in love with a young man she cannot have.
It is this team, led by a commander more animal than human that arrives at firebase 1516.
Only those who have been in war can understand it. The struggle for survival and, the senseless survival of some are an eternal mystery.
Returning stateside, the surviving Green Beret, now Major Brian Trister, faces the man who sent his team to their deaths, President Johnson.
Here is where history ends...
The story continues as Brian makes a request of the man awarding him the Medal of Honor. A small favor really, all things considered...
The one thing Brian wants most, more than the Medal is to speak before congress. President Johnson, facing the man he has tried to kill, a man who knows too much and has survived too many things, knows he only has one choice...
