    About

365 Days of Dance is a calendar-style book featuring dance tips, trivia and inspirational ideas for every day of the year! With topics such as "Did You Know?", "Technique Tips," "So You're New To Dance?", "Dance Goal For The Week" and more, each day has something different. Whether you're a ballet dancer, a hip-hop dancer, a dance teacher, or just someone who loves watching dance TV shows or playing dance video games, this book is a great way to learn interesting facts about various topics of dancing.

This book was especially intended for people who are new to dance, but also includes technique tips and advice that can be helpful to all dancers. To use this book, you can read the book from beginning to end, scroll through the book randomly, or read a page a day.

    Here are some excerpts below...

    - So You’re New To Dance? Jazz is a classical technique style that’s often associated with Broadway and theater; however, the jazz that’s being done today in studios, at competitions, and on TV, is not the same jazz often associated with its name. The “new” jazz being done now often borders more on contemporary or lyrical, varying greatly in style. Old-school classic jazz may be called Broadway jazz, or when combined with singing and acting, musical theater jazz.

    - Dance Goal for the Week: Try focusing on your turns this week. Turns can be a tricky subject because every person is different and can have different reasons for not being able to turn to their full potential. Experiment with different types of turns, different approaches, and different ways of holding your arms and body.

    - Technique Tips: When you plié, think up, and when you élevé, think down; it’s all about opposites. When you plié, stay lifted in your body and don’t sink into the ground. When you élevé, keep your feet grounded and push down with your feet.

    - Did You Know? The word “choreographer” comes from two Greek words meaning “to dance” and “to describe.”

The Dancer Space is an online company for dancers or anyone who just loves dance. Originally founded in 2009, The Dancer Space began as a blog started by dance teachers with a small selection of dance items for sale. Since then, our product catalog has expanded, and we’ve grown into a large online store and branched out from blog writing to book publishing. Look for more books to come from us soon, including advice and technique books, children’s story books, and a book series for pre-teens.
