Mr. Finger’s Space Adventures with Lyric

I got the idea for this book from my grandson Lyric. It was something I thought would make a nice birthday gift for his third birthday. He was about a year and a half when one night I noticed he was looking at the Moon, so I started tell him about the Moon, stars, and planets, satellites and aliens. Then I started walking my fingers up his back and he asked, “Who is that, Grandpa?” I said, “That's Mr. Fingers; maybe one day he will take you on his spaceship and go visit the planets.” He said, “Ya, Grandpa!” So Mr. Fingers was born. I finished it, as rough as it is, and gave it to him for his birthday, and he just loved it. I hadn't thought of doing anything else with it, but I got such a response from friends and the kids from his Head Start class, that my wife suggested I do something with it. So here we are. When he comes over on weekends I sometimes hide the book because that's all you hear is, “Grandpa, read Mr. Fingers!” So if it does make it to book stores, I think kids will enjoy it as much as he does. But with your help and experience, we can make it a reality.
