A moment in time can change your life. It did for Andy Roberts. Fetching a ball from a ditch, Andy finds an old pocket-watch buried in the bank-side, ‘The Timemaster Chronometer’.
After a good cleaning and getting it to work, Andy is playing with the watch and listening to the tinkling tune of the alarm, when suddenly, he finds himself back in 1914, in the middle of the German bombardment of Whitby!
His later trips with the Timemaster find him, his sister and their friends in some strange and perilous adventures in time and place. From the fun of the 1920 Whitby Regatta and the excitement of the 1966 World Cup Final, Andy has to avoid being blown up by the Germans, hanged for treason by superstitious Tudors and being shot full of arrows by Vikings.
But who is the strange old man who comes to claim the Timemaster as his own? How can he know so much about it? Why is he willing to pay Andy, a fortune to get it back? How can Andy keep the Timemaster and have further adventures?
