Police Strike Force: They Make Their Own Rules

These are the cops who do the jobs the ordinary officers cannot do, nor do the senior officers wish to know anything. Serious and violent crime is soaring, the recent human rights legislation, backed up by judgements from the European Court combined with pressures from various civil rights groups has made life for senior and the every day police officers very difficult. As a result, the situation was becoming out of control. Three Chief Constables hit on an idea of forming a specialist police tactical unit. This being made up of officers with very doubtful records all standing in the last chance saloon. Inspector Tom Striker, himself once disciplined and demoted is put in charge of the unit. The group work from a little used police station, isolated from regular officers, not answerable to local Commanders. Their brief, to reduce crime in any way they can, their seniors asking no questions, provided the job gets done. The unit soon picks up the name, Police Strike Foce. The reality is a battle between two sides, gangsters and police, both of who believe they are, above the law.
