    Next Technologies Limited is an Information and Communications Technology solution provider devoted to understanding business needs and hence together we shall “understand the future” and what it holds for us in our mutual endeavors. Next Technologies Limited values dynamic people who are versatile in their fields of knowledge. It believes in the growth of staff members both career wise and in their personalities and encourages creativity and innovativeness in their execution of duties. It operates upon a transparent assessment process and reward good performance. Next Technologies Limited was founded by the two current directors Anne and Vincent. It is a private partnership company. It deals with outsourcing of experts and supply of IT equipment and devices. Its customers mainly include banks, government parastatals, private companies, insurance companies, industrial companies and other IT firms.
    Next Technologies has two branches in the IT department: Technical department and Systems department. My main area of interest was the systems department in their IT category. The systems department was involved in software installation and maintenance, server installation and maintenance, security system monitoring and deployment, network administration and configuration, oracle database administration, mail server administration etc. In review this internship has been an excellent and rewarding experience. I have been able to meet and network with so many people that I am sure will be able to help me with opportunities in the future. One main thing I have learnt through this internship is time management skills as well as self-motivation. When I first started I did not think that I was going to be able to make myself sit in an office for eight hours a day, five days a week. Once I realized what I had to do I organized my day and work so that I was not overlapping or wasting my hours. I learned that I needed to be organized and have questions ready for when it was the correct time to get feedback. ]from this internship and time management I had to learn how to motivate myself through being in the office for so many hours. I came up with various proposals and ideas that the company is still looking into using. I really enjoyed this line of work. This was an excellent experience. The company should pick fewer interns and raise the qualifications requirements as opposed to having too many interns with low qualifications. At certain times there were too many interns with little to do so most of them just sit idle in the office. The company website should have more details about the organization and have regular updates. There should also be feedback option on it to help the company meet the expectations of the visitors.

    In review this internship has been an excellent and rewarding experience. I have been able to meet and network with so many people that I am sure will be able to help me with opportunities in the future.
