My father Captain Neil F. Mangold served with Eastern Air Lines for 32 years. Neil Mangold wrote three series of columns: Homespun in the Port Allegany Reporter and Argus (1954) about his Pennsylvania hometown and his yearning to become a pilot; Flying Notes, in the Milford (N.H.) Cabinet and Wilton Journal (1973-75); and Adventures of an Air Line Pilot.
