Building your Photography Empire

Iʼve worked as a professional photographer for around 50 years. It didnʼt take me long to realize that people were not breaking down my door and throwing money my way. So I went the whole antsy route, still feeling my way around in the dark. I eventually managed to pick- up some occasional work for magazines and the Detroit Symphony but I wasnʼt making a living. Growing up in the Detroit area I knew about assembly lines. I realized that if I was to make money, I would need to have volume sittings. So I then attended the college of hard knocks, learning how to create my own work.

I will not be spending much time on how to be a photographer. Iʼm assuming you are already there in mind and spirit. I also am not spending much time on posing, lighting or sales. I will touch on each of these topics but you will quickly learn on your own the how to, and what sells. In this self learning process your natural style will develop and that is something unteachable.
