Commonly called ‘Mrs. Rundell’s’, this collection of helpful household hints and recipes became the number one cookbook of its time. It offers a wide range of information from how to choose ingredients, how to keep them, lists of recipes along with alternate versions, and comments on things from meal planning to how to make dye. This edition is the 1843 edition, which includes new recipes and hints added by author Emma Roberts. There are over 25 images included in this version from original engravings of the time, showing cuts of meat and how to carve, as well as boiling and roasting positions for various animals. Each recipe and section is linked to an active table of contents, making the book’s information easy to access.
