SPLASH!
“It’s raining! It’s raining!” King Caraway jumped to his feet and looked up at the ceiling.
“Stop! I had a bath last month!” Wizard Gravelwort waved his arms. He opened his eyes and looked at the king. “What’s going on?”
The king frowned, “I don’t know.”
Then he saw Princess Laressa standing in front of him. He also saw the jug hanging from her hand.
“Did you just throw water at us?” he gasped.
Laressa put the jug down and ran towards her father. “I had to. Something terrible has happened and I have to let you know!”
King Caraway wiped his dripping face with the sleeve of his robe. “Calm down, my Little La La, and tell me all about it.”
Wizard Gravelwort looked over at Tansy and said, “Has this something to do with you? You two always seem to get into trouble when you’re together.”
Tansy nodded , looked down at her feet and said, “I was there when it happened.”
“Father, we were down in the dark tunnels ...” Laressa began.
“The dark tunnels? You shouldn't be down there, you know that. Don’t let your mother find out! Do you remember, Gravelwort, when we went exploring down there?”
Wizard Gravelwort began to laugh, “Yes, and you fell down that hole, and I had to use my magic to get you out.”
“And you turned me into a tree by mistake!” King Caraway chuckled. “I had leaves growing out of my ears for weeks!”
