Like the earlier books, the writing is engaging and simple enough for early readers. There's a lot more adventure in this installment, though, and even a sprinkle of danger that will keep kids glued to the pages to see what will happen next. The colorful illustrations in soft pastels complement the story beautifully. Recommended. - I picked up this book for my daughter who is 4+ and loves bird and other animal stories. From the
moment I read it to her she was entranced. She was a bit worried for Zeppi, but was happy when everything worked out well in the end. We actually read the book several times in the same sitting. This is a testament to how much she enjoyed it.
I recommend this book. - This is my first introduction to the Zeppi stories and I can say that I highly recommend this to anyone with kids who are curious about new places and and things. I loved the fact that Zeppi is a penguin with a best friend who just happens to be a human. Throw in dolphins and a nasty bird and you've got an enchanting story that is perfect for both adults and kids. Highly recommended.
