This is a book of thousands of websites covering media (TV, radio) and pop culture entertainment.
Aside from Las Vegas, Atlantic City where you can go to take gaming courses and then work, there are many casinos springing up all across America even riverboat casinos on the Mississippi. Your best bet is to get the free state travel guides, find the casinos listed in them then contact them about work.
There are casinos in at least 35 American states, in Canada and throughout the world. It's an untapped potential for a decent skilled job almost anywhere because hardly anyone ever thinks about them as viable career options.
Some operate 24 hours so you can pick your shift or even work part-time.
Some of the different jobs are as follows:
The slot cashier or the cage cashier sits in booth and sells chips, makes change, cashes chips in, etc.
Cocktail Server or cocktail waitress. In Las Vegas, they are young women with skimpy clothes on looking to score by making tips. In other areas, they could be anybody supplying booze on the casino floor.
The dealer. Dealers usually take a course then with either this diploma or a license to be a dealer, they get a job. Most houses two games:
Blackjack
Craps/ dice
Poker
Baccarat
Roulette
Minibaccarat
Pai gow poker
Pai gow tiles
Be unemotional. Don't take sides and don't steal money because you're being watched.
Security. Most security look for cheaters and monitor the dealers through high-tech video equipment to see if they're cheating. They are also on-floor personnel to watch for customers acting unruly or robberies.
The biggest pitfall in working at a casino is that its patrons are losers in life. After all, who in their right mind does something as useless and stupid as gambling except for a professional gambler.
Look in Las Vegas and Atlantic City newspapers for job ads.
