My Grandmother, Marlene was always the "town cook" in a small Tennessee town of Monteagle. She loved baking and canning for friends and family and in 1982 she created a cookbook to showcase her collection of favorite recipes. Some of these recipes were passed down from her great-grand-mother, some were given to her by friends and family over the years, and includes some of her own creations, as well as, creations by her and my Mother. In 1987 she made revisions to the original cookbook and added more recipes. My brother and I grew up in the kitchen "cooking and eating with Granny" and so did my son, who is 20 now and loves to cook. About 8 years ago we lost my Grandmother and the small town of Monteagle lost a great friend and cook. My Mother and I decided to continue her legacy and revise her last cookbook, but keep her favorite recipes. We hope "My Grandmother's Cookbook" finds its way into your kitchen and fills it with great memories as it has ours.
