The SELECTED RECIPES WITH CULINARY HERBS cookbook was first published in 1943 by the Columbus, Indiana Chapter of Bundles for America. During World War II, Bundles for America chapters across the country worked and raised money to provide knitted garments for Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine personnel and their families. SELECTED RECIPES was a fund raising project intended to support the "relief of the dependent families of men in service and to buy comforts for our armed forces." With over 250 recipes, the result is a great cookbook and a sterling example of the war effort on America's home front.
