This short nonfiction book. The first section is about passing down easy recipes that have been around for years, with the hope you will pass down your special recipes. All recipes in this section, are handed down family recipes. They were included in a box of 3X5 handwritten cards, I found this treasure of sweetness in an antique store. Most were unsigned, if a name was listed on the card I have included it. Feel free to share with family and friends.
I tested the some of the recipes in a Hamilton Beach Countertop oven it has both convection and convention bake settings. The difference is in the time/temperature settings. The convection setting is 25% faster. The air is circulated in the oven, so food cooks faster. By using the counter top oven (sometimes called a toaster oven) it frees the main over for the main dish. Use the oven of your choice.
I have simplified some of the recipes, Buttermilk for sour milk, self-rising flour in place of using regular flour and baking soda. The self-rising flour has the baking soda and baking power in it. WHY did I edit the recipes? The name of this chapter is EASY Cakes and Cookies Recipes, I made it easy.
I also included the Brandy Pot. It’s a friendship pot that you create this with love and give part to a special friend, who will do the same.
