So, you may be looking around for a recipe book that should provide you some healthy vegetarian recipes. Have you ever imagined how you are affecting your health through eating those unhealthy, non-vegetarian fast foods without any regrets? Today, many researchers have proved that non-vegetarian food and especially the fast food that we eat daily has many health concerns. The meat that is used by the fast food restaurants contains many harmful chemicals and pathogens because they are preserved with chemicals for many days before they come in front of our plate. The processed meat that you eat bulging out from your burger has many harmful effects on your health. If you are eating that fast food made up of processed meat, then do a favour to your health and give up eating those foods. I won’t ask you to become a vegetarian in the first place because I have not written a book on – “How to become a vegetarian,” but if you have made this decision to buy this vegetarian cookbook then at least give up eating those processed meat and non-vegetarian fast foods. Vegetarian food had been practiced since a long time back in history. Some earliest record shows that vegetarianism come from late 6th century B.C. from some parts of the world like India, Greece, and some parts of southern Italy.
There are many reasons for adopting a vegetarian diet. Some people have a feeling of the natural love and sanctity for animals and they avoid harming animals through slaughtering them in slaughter houses. Some NGO organizations like PETA are running many campaigns to increase awareness of the benefits of eating vegetarian food. Another reason for vegetarian diet is because non-vegetarian food is prohibited in many religions. Some religions like Buddha and Jain believe that animals have equal rights to live in this world just like human beings and you must not kill them or eat them.
In my opinion, anything beneficial for your health and well being can be adapted. I am not a total believer of any organization like PETA or and I also don’t belong to the vegetarian diet following religions. My belief is that you can adopt vegetarian food if you think that processed meat is harmful for your health. There is a place in Japan where the average age of most people is 100 years and more. Recently, an oldest woman of the world from this Japanese place had died. She was around 117 years old and when someone asked the reason of her age, she replied with a smile – “Lot of sleep and my favourite sushi.” Sushi is a Japanese food where raw fish and other seafood are used widely. Fish and seafood is very good for your health, but the processed meat you eat with your fast food don’t have any health benefits.
