    About

    --- ~ - BIGGEST MARK TWAIN QUOTES COLLECTION - ~ ---

Samuel Langhorne Clemens alias Mark Twain, (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910), was an American author, lecturer and humorist. His two books were referred to as ‘The Great American Novel’ of the 19th century, the first was, ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’ (1876) and the second, ‘The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn’ (1885). William Faulkner called Twain as "the father of American literature". In 1940, United States postage honored him by publishing the postal stamps of value Ten Cents.

‘The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County’(1865), was his first important work. ‘The Innocents Abroad’(1869), ‘Roughing It’(1872), ‘The Prince and the Pauper’(1882), ‘Life on the Mississippi’(1883), ‘A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court’(1889), ‘The Tragedy of Pudd'nhead Wilson’(1894). The two books were published posthumously, ‘The Mysterious Stranger’(1916), and ‘The Letters from the Earth’(1962).
