    About

    Teach English in Italy

So you want to live in Rome, Italy? Excellent decision. Rome is the most beautiful, chaotic, delicious, perplexing city in the world. It’s always exciting, although not always easy to manage. Rome can frustrate the uninitiated expat and it’s helpful to have some expert advice from someone who has made every conceivable error…and then some.

And by the way, how are you going to pay for this dream of yours? If you’re not sure, then I have a great idea: why not teach English? It’s fun, pays reasonably well, and it’s not too stressful. But the best part is that you’ll get out into the city, meet a lot of great people, and play an important role in the everyday life of today’s Rome. By working among the Romans, you’ll break down that invisible barrier that separates tourists from locals and become an active participant in your own dream.

This book contains a great deal of practical information for any foreigner who desires to live in the Eternal City. The facts are presented in a straightforward, detailed manner with numerous resources to help you along your journey. I've tried to be as concise as possible—there’s everything that you need and nothing that you don’t.

However, I wrote this guide with a very specific goal in mind: to help Americans who want finance their dream of living in Italy by Teaching English as a Foreign Language (T.E.F.L.). As I will expand on within the text, this is very likely the only option for Americans who want to work in Rome and I’ll show you exactly how to do it, step by step.

Now you don’t have any more excuses, my fellow Americani! Andiamo
