To say that we are currently living in the most uncertain times would be an understatement. Consider this: Vladimir Putin has repeated several times in recent past that he would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons against the West if Russia’s interests are threatened. His threats are not entirely unfounded. In a 1993 doctrine which was ironically dubbed “de-escalation”, Russia abandoned the former Soviet Union pledge not to use nuclear weapons in any conflict with the West.
What this means is that Russia- and Putin in particular –retain a blank check to do as they please. But what may shock you to the core are recent reports which indicate that in 2014, Russia’s nuclear arsenals surpassed those of the USA for the first time in 40 years. What is the implication of that? My hunch tells me that Putin may be about to do something sinister.
If you think that I am engaging in fear mongering, then listen to what Mikhail Gorbachev, the former president of the defunct USSR, a 1990 Nobel Peace Prize Winner and a principal architect who spearheaded the end of the cold had to say recently.
While alluding to Putin’s end game in his conflict to the West over Ukraine crisis, Gorbachev told a German Magazine, The Der Spiegel News: “a war of this kind would unavoidably lead to a nuclear war…….we aren’t sure of the coming years if someone loses their heads in the overheated situation”. He then added:”This is not something I am saying thoughtlessly. I am extremely concerned”.
The upshot of Gorbachev comments is the fact that we are currently staring into the abyss; in as far as Putin’s actions are concerned. The tragedy of it all is that our lives and that of our children are now in the hands of a leader with a reputation for erratic behaviors and unmatched unpredictability. And with the economic crisis currently unfolding in Russia coupled with a plunge in oil prices to depths never before imagined, the prospect of a paranoid Putin doing something silly to assuage his battered ego, seems more likely with each passing day.
Do not continue groping in the dark. Step out of your comfort zone and understand what is about to happen to us. Discover what motivates Putin and the Oligarch’s that wield power at the Kremlin.

We refuse to be the sacrificial lambs; we cannot continue behaving like sheep being led to the slaughter. The time for action is now. And nuclear arsenals should not continue disturbing our sleep and our collective faith in the future of our children.
