In A PLATYPUS’ FOURTH OF JULY POEM, a zoo’s little platypus is perplexed after hearing about a day in which some people somewhere light fireworks for some reason. Lucky for him, his zoo has a knowledgeable platypus, who is able to tell him about the Fourth of July holiday and its origin with the Declaration of Independence back in 1776. But wanting to know even more, the little platypus asks about the signers of such a famous document. Lucky for the knowledgeable platypus, not only is he knowledgeable, but he’s also poetic, and so he has a very unique poem chock-full of all fifty-six signers of the Declaration of Independence at the ready.
