The Bible is the most common source of idioms in the English language. Most of the biblical idioms found in these lessons can be found in the King James Version of the Bible.
Although scholars debate the exact number of biblical idioms, most agree there are over 250 in number. This study guide introduces one hundred of some of English’s most frequently used Biblical idioms in a series of 10 lessons. Each lesson starts with a short, one page story that includes 10 different Biblical idioms used in modern context. After each story is a page of - match the idiom to it's meaning - lessons intended to reinforce the remembering of the idioms. Each page of lessons has an answer sheet to aid in marking. Extension discussion questions are included with each lesson.
