When Santa falls off a slippery roof and breaks his leg long before finishing his night's work, there seems to be no hope that the rest of the kids will get their giftrs, since all Santa's elves are too little to lift the heavy bag. Lars, Santa's head elf, finally thinks of Mrs. Claus. When asked to deliver the rest of the gifts, she says she can't because she can't go up and down the chimmey like Santa does. Lars convinces her to at least try, and after several aborted attempts at lift off she succeeds and heads off to finish emptying the bag. Despite having to referee a constant battle between Charlie, the cat, and Oscar, the reindeer, to be the leader of the mission she finally empties the bag, only to discover that she has one house left on her list and no gifts to give. She solves that problem by going bak to a house where she has left many gifts to take some gifts back to deliver to the kids that were left out. She is caught under the tree by the kids living in the house, and in explaining the siituatrion to them, she both gives and receives lessons in giving and sharing.
