Andrew was so frightened he called out for his mum and dad, who came rushing down the stairs.
“Whatever is the matter Andrew?” his dad asked.
“Why are you not in bed?” mother said joining in the questioning.
They both seemed to be speaking at once.
“I.. I... I...,” Andrew stammered.
Dad turned the kitchen light on and looked around.
“Who ate the cookies?” he asked.
“I... I don’t know,” Andrew lied.
“Well, you know you must not tell lies Andrew. Have you heard of Wendy’s Web?”
