This is an omnibus of the first four books in Johnny's Adventure series.
This is a heartwarming story about how a dog named Trouble brings together the most unlikely friends. Johnny has always been a dog lover and longs for a dog of his very own. Johnny discovers a dilapidated house just up the road from where he is living after moving from the West Texas desert. At the dilapidated house Johnny finds a grumpy old man, who tries to scare Johnny away, but Johnny does not scare easily. Later Johnny stumbles across a group of children in the woods, who take him to a secret beach. They also teach him how to go sledding without snow. Together he and his new friends explore lush landscapes where berries grow wild, and are guarded by gluttonous blue jays, and streams are filled with Steelhead that have grown huge in their aquatic world. Later, Johnny goes back to visit the elderly man and realizes that something is very wrong. The man's dog Trouble is straining against his chain and barking wildly at the house. This is a story filled with nature, love and compassion. It is a story about people caring for and about one another. And all of the animals and nature in this story are a good mix for children with inquisitive minds. Three quarters of this story is set in the beautiful harbor town of Fort Bragg, California where I grew up as a child.
There is a total of six books in this series.
